Hope #3

I was motivated to start a hope photography project during a time when I was struggling emotionally as I was witnessing friends and family members deal with health issues. In an effort to process my sad emotions, I started photographing flowers and light hearted images. When I saw this flower image come to life in the darkroom, I instantly felt hopeful and I decided to gift the first photo print. I gave it to a friend that was confronted with an unexpected health condition after a routine check up. Upon gifting the flower, hope became my agency and a force to get me through the anxiety I was experiencing.

During the print process of the flower image, I memorialized my thoughts about Hope and would like to share some random notes I uncovered in the dark room. Hope grants purpose, energy and sometimes change. Hope can be the sun, can make you cry or make you laugh. Hope can be a window and hope at times can make you feel hopeless. Ultimately, I believe that embracing Hope is a personal choice. I have also discovered that in an act of giving, Hope can find you.

Hope is infinity!!
