Prints From The Darkroom : Art For A Cause
The Texas Longhorn is a hybrid breed of cattle that originated from Spanish cattle and English cattle. Spanish conquistadors brought the first longhorns to the Americas between 1493 and 1512. Longhorns arrived in Texas around the late 1600s and are known for their docility, longevity, and calving ease. The longhorn produces lean beef that is lower in cholesterol than other breeds of beef cattle. The longhorn is also the University of Texas football mascot symbol. The primary reason for breeding for horns that grow downwards is to prevent injury during dominance disputes, as the horns can be used to defend against other animals
