Prints From The Darkroom : Art For A Cause
It was a delight taking this image, and this feisty llama was a show-off, posing for me like a model prancing on a runway. Llamas have been necessary to Peruvian culture and economy for thousands of years. Central to the Incan Empire, llamas were used for food, clothing, transportation and ritual sacrifices. Today llamas are still used for the production of fiber and meat in South America. Llamas are considered emotional support therapy animals as they are frequent visitors to hospitals and assisted living facilities. Some families keep llamas as pets in the home.
